Scott Noel is a professor of painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He has taught and exhibited in Philadelphia for over thirty years. In March 2012 he opened his fifteenth gallery exhibition in the city at the Gross McCleaf Gallery which featured figure paintings and large cityscapes completed in the past two years. Noel has exhibited in New York and nationally. He has received fellowships from the Bader Foundation and the Independence Foundation and from the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. Noel has also been active writing about fellow artists and curating exhibitions for museum venues, most recently "Imaginative Affinities, Echoes of Edwin Dickinson in Contemporary American Paintings" at the Pennsylvania Academy.
